Black Friday. The name brings images of great savings and out of control mobs flashing into my mind! The thought of trying to navigate that mess with my children is not a fun thought!
It would be far easier to just avoid the whole event, but when you are trying to save money and still give great gifts, it’s very tempting to participate in the madness! Here are a few Black Friday survival tips for those of us with little ones!
How to Survive Black Friday with Little Kids
In years past, the process of getting out and about with all the crazy people was really fun for me! I would go to the local mall and just sit on a bench with a cup of coffee and watch everyone running around like mad-men.
Even if I didn’t need anything, I always went. It was tradition!
Then came baby… and now just getting out of the house on a Tuesday morning to go to Target is a huge outing! So what am I to do about all these great sales that I want to hit?!
I really don’t feel like I can take him out into that mess, but since he’s still nursing I need to keep him with me.
Maybe you’re in the same position? You want to take advantage of all the awesome pricing of the Black Friday event without having to worry about your kids.
Here are 6 reasons I’m going stay home to enjoy savings this Black Friday without running around like a crazy person!
1. Avoid the Crowds All Together
This is super obvious, but I’m going to say it anyway! STAY HOME!!
Most stores, especially big name stores, offer the same pricing online that they are offering in the stores! So just stay home, click around, and enjoy the savings!
2. Check Out Amazon
Amazon.com has amazing savings all the time, and Black Friday is no different. In fact, they even have a system set up that will notify you of Black Friday pricing when it’s available early!
That way you know exactly what will be on sale and can start making your list!

3. It’s Faster
Buying things online is just faster, we all know it. A few clicks of the mouse and you are done. No waiting in line behind Chatty Cathy at the store. No searching the isles endlessly while your child screams as you try and find the right product… it’s all right there at the tip of your fingers.
4. It’s Less Exhausting
My energy is finite. I wish that wasn’t the case, but it is. With a baby running around, multiple businesses to run, and making sure my family is fed, wasting a full day shopping is not on my to-do list. 30 minutes max, and I have everything I need winging its way to my door step!
Hey, I might even take a nap on Black Friday. 😉
5. Actually Find What You Want
While a brick and mortar shop may only have room for a few of each item, the online market place has a seemingly unlimited supply of anything you could possibly want!
Don’t wait in line for the newest toys only to find out they just sold the last one! Click, click, and it’s yours!
6. No Loading the Car
I know I’m not alone here, but having to load up the car is basically torture. It adds so much extra time to every trip! And then you have to factor in all the driving and the traffic madness!
No thanks! I’m staying home this year!

I was hoping for tips for in-person shopping so at first I was little surprised that this article was more about online shopping. But this article has ended up convincing me it’s fine, totally okay and so much better to shop online to avoid all those hassles!

I used to beat myself up about ordering things online… now I save “in person” shopping as a special treat for myself when I have some alone time! Best of both worlds!
