Easter Egg counting activity

We love easy printable activities around here. It’s fun for my 4-year old and it’s fun for me because it’s super low prep!

Printable activities are also make it easy to pull in seasonal themes, like this Easter theme egg counting printable (grab the download below)!

Easter Egg Dot Marker Counting Activity

This is a wonderful counting activity for ages 2 to 4 and can be done over and over again with different colors to help solidify number recognition and one to one counting.

Here are my best tips for making this activity the best it can be for you and your kids!

Use Dot Markers

Dot markers are going to make the best “dot” for this printable because of their blunt tip. A normal marker (that you would use for coloring) has a fine tip and children tend to mash the tip as they try to create the dots.

If You Don’t Have Dot Markers…

While we prefer to use dot markers for this activity, you could also use colored stickers if you either don’t have any dot markers on hand, or just don’t want to deal with the potential mess!

Stickers are also great if you want to try this activity with a child as young as 18 months!

Mix the Colors Up

Try having your child work their way down the rainbow color pattern. It’s not required, but it adds a fun layer, especially if they are a little older!

Don’t Stop There

Establishing math skills early in life can help your child in school for decades to come! So try a few more of these math activities to start them off right!

  • Sequencing with Sandwiches
  • Barn Yarn Math Puzzle (printable)
