I used to keep ranch mix on hand, but one day I went to the cupboard and realized I was out! So after some quick thinking, I came up with this awesome recipe that is ready in no time!
After 14 years of making this ranch dip for every family event, every holiday, and every party, it has been perfected into the most amazing ranch you’ll ever have.
Plus, because it doesn’t use sour cream, you can make this a dairy free dip without any trouble.
2 Minute Ranch Dip with Dairy Free Options
This ranch dip is very forgiving, so you can add a little bit more or less of something without having it be a crazy mess! I always tend to go a little heavy handed with the garlic, but this recipe is a nice even balance of spices that you can play with to find your own personal preferences!
Since this recipe doesn’t call for sour cream, you can make it a completely dairy free ranch dip by choosing a non-dairy milk!
You can substitute in any milk you’d like. It’s doesn’t have to be animal milk… I’ve made this recipe with coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, raw milk, and more!
I bet you have everything you need to whip this up right now. So grab your favorite milk and give it a try!
This easy ranch drip without sour cream is perfect for dipping vegetables or chips, or anything in between!
Ranch Dip is a classic, whether you like it on veggies or potato chips! Here's how to make it from scratch (without a mix or sour cream) in less than 2 minutes!
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp milk (as needed for consistency) any type of milk works
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon onion flakes
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
Place mayo in a medium bowl
Add milk and lemon juice and whisk until smooth
Add spices and stir until well combined
Cover bowl and store in the refrigerator. Will keep for up to 2 weeks.
Serve with chips or veggies.
NOTE: The dip with become much thicker if you rest it overnight in the fridge. If it gets too thick, just mix a little more milk until it is the desired consistency.
This recipe is absolutely delicious. I usually use sour cream and dried onion soup mix, but this is far superior. Thank you for posting!
this is a great recipe!! i used it when i was making salads because i wanted some ranch and we didn’t have any. i didn’t have any parsley on hand so i used a little bit of oregano and i added in a half cup of buttermilk instead of 3 tbsp and that turned out to be the perfect ranch dressing!! my mum told me it was a little bit like tatziki, but my family loves mediterranean food so we didn’t mind LOL
I never have sour cream around, so a dip recipe that requires none is my holy grail. And I always have lemons and mayo and milk. Now I’ll always be ready for any dip emergency. Thanks for sharing.
This is great ranch dressing recipe! I didn’t have sour cream and was very happy to find this recipe. Thank you.
