Moms need self care, that’s a fact. But a lot of times we just don’t have the time to take that care! Here are 5 ways to squeeze in some mama self care when you only have 10 minutes.
Every day I say that I’m just going to relax during nap time. And every single day something else takes over and I find myself spending all my relaxing time working!
The house needs cleaning, the laundry needs to be washed, dried, and folded, meals need to be made… the list is never ending.
But the truth is, us moms have to take time for ourselves or life is going to be harder for everyone!
Mama Self Care in 10 Minutes or Less
When mom is stressed, tired, tense, and overworked everyone feels it. Your kids can tell that playtime is not as energetic, you yourself feel less like doing things.
Weight gain and depression can set in quickly when you don’t take time for self care.
But squeezing it into an already busy day can seem impossible. Here are 5 ways to grab some mama self care that take just 10 minutes or less!
Meditation
Clearing your mind is a great way to recharge in a short amount of time. If you’ve never meditated before, it does take some practice to shut out all the thoughts and plans you have for the day, but once you do you will find yourself ready to take on the rest of the day in no time.
Here are a few beginner meditation tips and tricks to get you started!
Prayer
Prayer is meditation on steroids for me! This is a time of self reflection, a time to ask for guidance and wisdom, and a time to refocus my mind on the things that really matter in this world.

Yoga
I adore yoga for a fast bit of self care. It’s active, but calm. It’s rejuvenating, but relaxing! Plus, not only are you clearing your mind and refocusing your energy, you’re also squeezing in a bit of a workout!

Bible Study
It’s good to just dive into The Word! And it’s especially great for maintaining a calm spirit in this crazy world.
Lately, I’ve taken to reading short devotionals, followed by the applicable Scriptures, and then a few minutes of prayer. Sometimes it ends up being a little longer than 10 minutes if I really start getting into the passage and can’t stop reading, but most of the time I can keep it right at the 10 minute mark.
Here are a few short devotionals to get you started! Note: They are said to be for the whole family (which you could definitely do!) but they are also perfect for a short solo devotional!
Something that Brings You Joy!
This one is the best way to refill yourself on days when you feel like you’re falling apart!
Just do something, anything, that brings you true joy! 10 minutes of your favorite hobby will have you perked up and ready to take on the world
For me that’s knitting, or cross stitching… or some days it might just mean playing an iPhone game without little fingers grabbing at the screen 😉
