I love crafting with my kids- recently we decided to make popsicle stick picture frames! I wanted cute frames to display the photos they’ve been taking with the kid camera they got for Christmas. Plus I wanted to display the dozens of art pictures they make every day!

How to Make Popsicle Stick Picture Frames

Pull out some popsicle sticks, hot glue, and paint if desired- it’s picture frame time!

supplies for making popsicles stick picture frames include popsicle sticks as well as paints to decorate them with

It’s crazy simple to get started. Make sure your glue gun is plugged in, and you have plenty of those bendy glue sticks that go inside of it- you’re already halfway done! It doesn’t hurt to make sure you have plenty of popsicle sticks on hand- we ran out before we could make as many picture frames as we wanted.

Squeeze some hot glue onto the ends of one popsicle stick at a time and join the sticks together into a frame. Make it the shape of your choice- squares are a popular option!

If you like the simple wooden look, don’t bother painting them. Some popular options in our house are glitter glue or watercolors- we used watercolors for the ones in this post.

We were all excited about how they turned out and will definitely go to the store to get more popsicle sticks to make more frames ASAP!

More uses for popsicle stick picture frames

Popsicle stick picture frames make really sweet gifts for holidays. Consider gluing a piece of ribbon to the back and poof- your frame is now an ornament perfect for giving to grandma for Christmas!

Another sweet option instead of attaching art or a picture to the frame would be a printing out a favorite quote or poem.

Looking to introduce early geometry to your kids? Make popsicle stick picture frames that are shaped like octagons, pentagons, squares. If you get creative and engage those STEAM skills, I bet you can even make a trapezoid!
